The singer posted a photo on her Twitter account showing a Brit trophy with a tweet
that said: "Hello to all my UK Rebel Hearts ❤️❤️❤!!! See you at the Brits on Feb 25th #BritsImMadonna #livingforlove #rebelheart."
It is thought the American singer will perform material from her new album Rebel Heart along with some of her greatest hits.
In January a source told the Daily Mirror: "Madonna wants to perform to the biggest number of people for the maximum impact and there's no better place for a controversy-filled Madonna performance than the Brits."
It is 20 years since the 56-year-old last performed at the event.
Madonna has not performed at the Brits in decades
Last month Madonna was forced to apologise after photoshopping images of figures such as Nelson Mandela and Martin Luther King with black ribbons wrapped around their faces.
The pictures were in the same style as her new album cover and the idea was replicated once more for her Brits announcement, which featured a pink award wrapped in black ribbon.
Royal Blood, George Ezra, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and Taylor Swift have already confirmed they will be performing at the ceremony on 25 February.
Madonna is also due to take to the stage at the Grammys on 8 February in Los Angeles.
Rebel Heart is released on 9 March.
